On a recent Doctor Who episode the Doctor mentioned a male Time Lord friend who had regenerated as a female. Which makes it a possibility that the next Doctor will be female. I think these polls cause your blog to slow up when downloading.
Big Finish did a non-canon audio with a female Doctor. Unfortunately, the writer couldn't seem to think what to do with her and just wrote a really dumb gross-out comedy.
Funny, I don't have the slowness problem (which I usually do). Maybe now with the big poll down it won't be as bad?
Didn't know about the audio but I rather think that few writers would be able to do a female Doctor that was still 'the Doctor' and not a replacement for him.
I'd be worried about them giving her a horrible masculine looking suit. Some fan artists have drawn some horrible looking outfits for female Doctors.
